The Drums

The Drums are an amazing demonstration of what music could sound like with out any fancy extras or over the top "Pop fizz". They cut right in the middle and get straight to the point, Using simple lyrics and simple sounds to make untouchable; well composed music. Cut Copy is a synthpop band formed in 2001 in Melbourne, Australia, and made up of Dan Whitford (lead vocals/keys/guitar), Tim Hoey (bass/guitar), Mitchell Scott (drums) and Ben Browning (bass/synthesiser), Bennett Foddy being a former member. Their sound is much in the vein of artists such as Daft Punk, drawing considerable influence from older bands such as New Order, Electric Light Orchestra and Kraftwerk.

The Bilinda Butchers

Sincerely I love this band. I first heard them about 4-5 years ago while I was still in school. I would download songs by the dozen on Last.Fm and then listen to all the songs going and on my way back. I never stopped listening. They remind me so much of a "modern male" Strawberry Switch Blade, (Favorite all time band). The band is made by members Micheal and Adam and producer Lukas. They take the name from a general source, Bilinda Butcher of My bloody Valentine, following her lead so much that they kept the Jazz master chain going.

James Blake has a high regard for the prophet 08 and brings honor to it's name. "James Blake is an electronic musician from London, England. James began his final year at Goldsmiths in September 2009 studying popular music while recording songs in his bedroom. Blake attended The Latymer School and released his debut 12” “Air and Lack Thereof” on Hemlock Audio in July 2009. It was a firm favourite with Gilles Peterson from BBC Radio 1. Nite Jewel

I believe that Nite Jewel is the only artist that has really accomplished the indie side of new wave. Naturally talented, her level of composition of music is so elite, you can really hear the story behind each song, it's as if she's been doing this for decades. It's very rare for me to listen to an entire album and even looping that album 10 times or more without a single song sounding off beat. It's a real pleasure to listen to nite jewel ... Especially at night.
